5 Steps to Creating Beautiful Email Newsletters in Flodesk
These steps can help you create beautiful and engaging email newsletters using Flodesk. Don’t forget to get 50% off with my affiliate link!
1. Upload your fonts, colors, and logo
Hover over your Flodesk profile and click on “Branding” in the drop down menu. Upload your logo, brand colors, and custom fonts so that moving forward, you can personalize your email newsletters quickly.
Don’t forget to consider the color for your backdrop, canvas, and text.
As you can see in the video, I have a lot of fonts that I’ve uploaded to Flodesk over the years, but in every email, I only use 3 fonts. I have a cursive-looking font for small bits of added text, a bold, big font for my headlines, and a basic, easy-to-read font for my main body text.
2. Create an Email Newsletter
Create a new email in Flodesk. You can start from scratch or use a template.
After you’re done designing the email, you can easily duplicate it and use it as the base for future emails.
3. Format and Design the Newsletter
Design your newsletter by adjusting colors, fonts, and layouts. Make your email more visually appealing and action-oriented by using images, easy-to-read text, and buttons.
Make sure that any hyperlinked text and buttons all use the same color so that when someone reads your email, they learn to associate that color with something they can click on. I like to use bright purple for all my links and buttons.
PRO TIP: After formatting a block in your email, you can click on it and then click on the heart icon that appears so that you can “Save block to favorites”. By building your collection of favorite blocks, you’ll be able to design future email newsletters even faster!
4. Utilize Flodesk’s Unique Widgets
Add elements such as countdown timers, ecommerce widgets, and testimonials to personalize and enhance your newsletter content.
Don’t forget to save these elements to your “Favorite” collection in Flodesk after you’ve tweaked them.
5. Segment Subscribers Using Link Actions
When appropriate, implement link actions to segment your list and create a more tailored experience for your subscribers, such as auto-adding interested users to a waitlist for an upcoming product or allowing users to opt-out of certain promotions.
