Your personal problems are your gold mines
New and budding entrepreneurs are often fed a message that the key to “having the life you love” is to “build a successful business.” The issue with this is it takes away your power to create positive change in your life regardless of where things stand in your business.
I believe that the key to having a successful business is to go ahead and start doing the inner and outer work that needs to be done for you to have the life you love NOW. Don’t give that power away to your business.
It’s all too easy to get caught up in the idea that “If my business just made more money, everything would be better. All my problems would go away.” That approach will always work against you.
Your business is not the solution. It’s a REFLECTION. The solution is YOU.
What does this look like in real life? It looks like you taking back your power to create positive changes in your life now with your present circumstances and sharing your progress with your community in real time. It looks like coming up with creative solutions to your own problems without defaulting to thinking that “I just need to make more money first.”
Challenge yourself to write down every little thing that bothers you and ask yourself where you can improve the situation without needing “a successful business” to come to your rescue.

I find that a lot of solutions can be found on the other side of addressing the deeper reasons behind the dysfunction in our life. If we can bravely look at the root of our issues, we will see that the root of the issue has nothing to do with lack of money. It has to do with some part of ourselves that is waiting to be seen, a pain that is waiting to be felt, a wound that is waiting to be healed. Making more money won’t make that pain and dysfunction go away.
Money is not a problem-solver. It’s a MAGNIFIER.
If you make more money from a place of running away from pain, then you’ll just continue running away from pain - just in more expensive ways - and the money will run out as well. Alternatively, if you make more money from a place of healing and growth, then you’ll create more healing and growth - and the money will grow as well.
When you start operating in this way, something magical happens. Your business will start to grow and make money.
How can this be?
The simple answer is that you’ve completely changed the energy from which you operate within your business. Instead of seeing yourself as someone who just needs to “buckle down” and “make it happen” for your business to be successful in the future, you start seeing yourself as someone who can choose to BE and FEEL successful NOW by taking 100% responsibility for your life TODAY.
You start realizing that your progress doesn’t come from pushing yourself harder. It comes from loving yourself more.

Your business then becomes a place where you can simply SHARE things you are doing in your own life to show more love for yourself. To take your power back. To solve your own problems. To address your own needs. To alchemize your own pain. There is nothing more inspiring than watching someone take back their personal power. It’s such a magnetic energy. It’s a force that changes lives without you actually trying to change anyone else’s life!
Every product I have ever created for the Secret O.W.L. Society was never actually created “for my audience”. Every product I’ve ever created was actually just the BYPRODUCT of the SOLUTION I created for MYSELF. This is so important and it’s so necessary because if we don’t prioritize addressing our own needs and solving our own problems today, then business just becomes a big distraction that stunts our personal growth.
If you don’t start taking care of YOU now and addressing your own needs, you’ll fall into the trap of subconsciously trying to get your business and your community to fulfill your needs for you. This dynamic creates fear, resentment and a constant feeling of trying to control something that is not in your control.
When you focus on creating solutions that actually work for YOU, those solutions naturally turn into products and services that just... flow from you. No more feeling drained or forcing it. Creation should GIVE you energy, not steal it!
I believe business needs to be a place where we can SHARE our personal growth and healing journey with others and by doing so we’ll attract a community that is on a similar journey. The people in your community don’t need you to be hyper-focused on them. What they need is to watch you figure your own stuff out. As they watch you take 100% responsibility for your life, they’ll be inspired to do the same for their own - and they’ll naturally turn into true fans of your business as a result.
